It's not one document. It's a complete package, and every piece has to be right before it reaches the court.
When most people hear "bankruptcy petition," they picture a single form. The reality is considerably more involved, and for attorneys managing a full caseload, the preparation time adds up fast.
A complete bankruptcy petition package is a collection of documents that must work together accurately and consistently. Every figure has to be accounted for. Every schedule has to be complete. Every form has to be filed correctly before a case can move forward.
For a standard Chapter 7 or Chapter 13 filing, the petition package typically includes:
The Voluntary Petition. The core filing document that initiates the case.
Schedules A through J. Covering real and personal property, secured and unsecured creditors, executory contracts, income, and expenses.
Means Test (Form 122A or 122C). The calculation that determines eligibility and, for Chapter 13, disposable income available for the repayment plan.
Creditor Matrix. The complete, formatted list of creditors used for noticing.
Chapter 13 Repayment Plan (Chapter 13 only). The proposed plan outlining how the debtor will repay creditors over time.
Each of these documents has its own requirements. Each has to be internally consistent with the others. A figure that appears on Schedule I needs to match what appears on the means test. Property listed on Schedule A/B needs to reconcile with exemptions claimed on Schedule C. Inconsistencies, even minor ones, can trigger deficiency notices, delay cases, or require amendments that eat into an attorney's time.
For a solo attorney or a small firm handling 20, 30, or more filings per month, the preparation work isn't a minor task. It's a significant portion of the workload, time spent on forms rather than on client strategy, court appearances, or building the practice.
Every petition I prepare is reviewed for accuracy, consistency, and completeness before it reaches the attorney's desk. The goal is a file that's ready to review and file, not one that creates more work.
That's the work Dawn Petition Support handles. I prepare Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 petition packages under attorney direction, working within your firm's existing workflow and software setup. Every form is reviewed before delivery. Anything missing or inconsistent is flagged in writing so the attorney can address it before filing.
A completed petition package from Dawn Petition Support includes all required forms and schedules, means test completion, creditor matrix organization, and an accuracy and consistency review, returned to you court-ready for your review and filing.
If you're a bankruptcy attorney whose preparation time is cutting into the rest of your practice, that's exactly the problem this service is designed to solve.
