My background is in the details - and in legal work, details are everything.
With over a decade of experience in legal document preparation and compliance-driven work, I support bankruptcy attorneys as a petition specialist - working under your direction to prepare accurate, thorough petitions that are ready for your review and filing.

I'm Dawn, the founder of Dawn Petition Support. I work fully remotely, serving solo attorneys and small bankruptcy firms across a focused set of federal bankruptcy districts. I work exclusively with practices who need a knowledgeable, reliable specialist they can trust to handle petition preparation accurately, professionally, and under their direction.
My legal career began in the late 1980s as a legal secretary in general practice, then moved into labor, employment, and personal injury law. Those years gave me a foundation in legal documentation, professional standards, and the level of precision that the legal environment demands.
From there I moved into the corporate world, joining Ford Motor Company and eventually supporting project management for Ford Credit, including managing a change management process for a major nationwide consolidation that streamlined branch offices across the United States and Canada into eight regional service centers. That work taught me how to track open items, develop contingency plans, and maintain order in complex, high-stakes situations. Skills that transfer directly into every petition I prepare.
After stepping away to raise my children, I returned to professional work in 2015 in a fully remote capacity, building a career as a virtual document specialist working with legal and financial professionals on complex, accuracy-critical work. That has included reviewing Private Placement Memorandums and supporting exhibits, forming LLCs, filing Form D registrations with the SEC, and managing investor documentation processes. This is detail-critical work where errors have real consequences, and I've never taken that lightly.
I also hold a notary commission and have served as a licensed loan signing agent in New York and Virginia. That background, sitting across the table from borrowers, managing document execution, knowing exactly where the legal lines are, has made me particularly attuned to professional boundaries and the importance of staying within them.
I understand how legal offices run. I understand deadlines, professional responsibility, and what it means to support an attorney's practice without overstepping. What I am not is an attorney, and I will never act as one. Every petition I prepare comes back to you for review, approval, and filing. When I communicate with your clients, which I do only under your explicit direction and authorization, I do so in a manner that is professional, limited to the scope you define, and reported back to you.
When you work with Dawn Petition Support, you work with me directly. Not a team, not a rotating roster of contractors, one consistent person who learns your practice, your preferences, and your standards.
I'd love to support your firm. Let's talk.
